Winner of the ‘Best Animated Short Film’ award in 1997 and nominated for the ‘Best Short Film, Animated’ Oscar in 1998, La Vieille Dame et les Pigeons (The Old Lady and the Pigeons) is a 22-minute animated short film written and directed by Sylvain Chomet. The debut work from a director who went on to receive two more Oscar nominations. Adelaide woman faces $30,000 fine for feeding a massive number of pigeons in her front yard The 72-year-old was reduced to tears, fearing for the massive number of pigeons who rely on her handout. The son of William Prine and Verna Hamm, his grandfather had played guitar with Merle Travis and he started playing guitar himself at 14 years old. He was a postman for 5 years and spent a couple of years in the army before starting his musical career in the Chicago area. He emerged in 1971 with a highly acclaimed debut album titled John Prine.
